7. July March-Anzeiger (local newspaper)

For most of the 1000 footballers and hobby-players who were fighting in six categories for the Group win from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon, there was a lot of sporty ambition - even so for the 11 players from "Vodafone FC" who flew especially to Lachen from Newbury, England. Contact to the team, who play in a local football league in the small English town, was initiated through Reto Weber. The Lachner worked for the telecommunication company Vodafone in England and even played in the Vodafone FC team.

The English enjoyed their stay in Lachen and were able to impress in the Group games. But in 1/8 Final that was played on Sunday, it was the end of the success road for them.  "After such a hard weekend we were slightly tired. Perhaps due to the Swiss Beer that tasted really good" explained Matt Hall, the Team Captain - with a big smile on his face! He and his team player highly rated the tournament. "We don't have competitions like this in England" he said. "Back home it's either Football or party - but not both together".

Matt Hall promised that in 3 years time they will be back in Lachen to play again. But this time to win!

"we're not going to let you Swiss show us how it's done twice" said Hall.
